Love doesn’t always follow a perfect script. Sometimes it shows up where the world least expects it—like behind prison walls. But for me, love became real the day I met KW.

KW is serving a 20-year sentence, with 17 more years to go. But prison has not and will not ever define him. The man I know is strong, intelligent, and incredibly loyal. He is the most loving, nurturing, and caring man I’ve ever known. Even from behind bars, he stands tall for our family. He stays positive, grounded, and focused—always being my calm in the chaos, my strength when I feel weak. No matter how heavy life gets, he finds a way to carry both his burden and mine without complaint.

KW is fiercely loyal. Right or wrong, he fights for me and with me. His love is not passive—it’s active, present, and unshakable. He shows up in every way he can. And I’ve never had to question where I stand with him. He has this way of making me feel like I’m the only woman in the world. He protects me, he uplifts me, and he stands by me with a love that is rare and real.

He’s also brilliant. KW’s intelligence shines through every conversation, every letter, every plan we dream up together. He’s thoughtful, reflective, and wise beyond his years. I trust him completely—not just with my heart, but with my life. He’s the only man I’ve ever given that kind of trust to, and he’s earned it a thousand times over.

More than anything, KW has shown me what true love feels like. He taught me that I am enough—more than enough. He sees me fully, even when I struggle to see myself. With him, I’ve experienced emotions I didn’t know I was capable of feeling. His love is deep, tender, and powerful.

One of the sweetest things he says, and says often, is:
Me: “I love you so much.”
KW: “Not as much as I love you.”
And the way he says it—every time—it melts my heart. Because I know he means it. I feel it. I carry it with me.

Introduction

KW is not just an inmate with a number. He is a man with a name, a future, and a heart bigger than most people on the outside. He is my love, my protector, my home. And I will fight for him until the day I die.

Our story isn’t ordinary—but it’s ours. And it’s beautiful.
