Welcome to a space where vulnerability meets resilience, where the complexities of love and the stark realities of incarceration intertwine. For the past 2 years, my life has been deeply intertwined with the Arizona state prison system, as my husband navigates a 20-year sentence. This blog is a chronicle of our personal journey – the raw, unfiltered truth of what we’ve witnessed, the battles we’ve faced, and the small victories that have kept us moving forward.
Here, I’ll be sharing the lessons we’ve learned along the way: what strategies offered a lifeline, and where we stumbled. It’s a testament to the enduring power of connection in the face of profound separation.
But this isn’t just our story. It’s a platform for others walking a similar path. I believe in the strength of shared experiences and the comfort of knowing you’re not alone. That’s why I’m opening this space to you. If you have a story of navigating the complexities of having a loved one incarcerated, if you have insights to share, or simply a concern you’d like to voice, I invite you to reach out. You can email me at prisonstopsnothingadvocacy@gmail.com to share your journey. Please know that your request for anonymity will be fully respected.
Together, let’s build a community of understanding, support, and hope.
